The unique bond between Sara and Eliana, who have been friends for fifteen years, might fill at least one trilogy! We asked Eliana to list some of their favorite times spent together, and here are a few choices, but they are a tribute to a long, happy existence with a family that naturally shows unconditional love, especially to a “badass grandma” like Sara.
THE FINAL ONE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
Born on March 25, 2003, Sara is a unique puppy. She is not a purebred dog, but what makes her unique is that she has a Pekingese-like face and a German Shorthaired Pointer-like physique, although a smaller one. When we repeatedly postponed, Sara was the only dog available for adoption, so my dad adopted her instead of my adopting one of her young brothers.
I was anticipating my treat, chocolate, which she normally gave me when dad got home from work, but instead he took a small puppy out of his pocket. I was simultaneously so delighted and excited that I started to shout. I went to watch cartoons and look at the cute puppy when I had calmed down. After some time, my mom suggested that we call her Sara because the TV cartoons featured a young dinosaur named Sara, and we had previously noted that they looked identical. My parents and I were still trying to come up with an appropriate name for her.
THE CUDDLER
Even when she began to develop, her legs trembled when she walked because she was so little. She wanted to sleep with my dad, so you would hear her tumble out of bed in the middle of the night. She decided to let herself fall since she was too small to jump and then go to my father and start crying so he could take her up and put her in his bed.
THE CHEWER
We forbade Sara from entering the kitchen when my mom’s friend dropped by one day. As my mom’s friend was ready to depart, we saw that Sara had chewed on her new sandals after she had raved about how much she liked them. It was a humorous situation in the end, but I suppose my mom’s friend didn’t find it that amusing.
THE POWERFUL HEADED
We began to notice Sara’s true nature as she grew up. She has such innate intelligence. She comprehended all of our instructions. Sara was always with me when my family and I traveled. For instance, she would begin barking at animals the moment she noticed them in the field. She didn’t stop when we asked her to; she just stopped when she felt like it. In Sara’s case, this was never the case. Dogs are meant to be taught and to listen to their owners.
The biter
One individual disregarded our warnings that she is not a cute, stupid puppy and that you shouldn’t play with her for enjoyment. She is petite, adorable, and innocent, he remarked. He began pushing an umbrella in Sara’s direction while we were waiting to cross the street at the stop sign. She growled to warn him, but he persisted in bugging her, so Sara bit his umbrella and shattered it. Even though this occurred a long time ago, he still brings up the incident and claims that our dog is insane everytime we meet him.
THE LARGE HEARTED
She once got her tooth stuck in the fence while attempting to catch a cat since she can’t stand them. This didn’t matter when a lost newborn cat was left in our front yard in the rain, even though she truly detested cats. Sara shielded her from the rain, which alarmed us since we thought she may hurt her. Until the rain ceased, Sara stood with the little cat beneath her.
THE JOKER
Sara and I would frequently visit the woodland next to my parents’ rural home. At one point, Sara was pursued by two large German Shepherds who attempted to bite her. I began to stress because I believed I may lose her, but it turns out I was unfounded. Sara was enjoying herself. She stopped when she saw she was well ahead of them since she was much quicker. She began to flee again after sitting and waving her tail until they were almost close to her. It was so hilarious to watch that I couldn’t believe it. After a while, the dogs grew weary and ceased chasing after Sara. I was rather pleased with her.
The hunter
In the country, catching rats and bringing them to the front of the house to display was one of her favorite pastimes. She captured snakes as well. Once, the snake accidentally fell on my father when she was attempting to kill it! She was a free-spirited, joyful dog that performed many wild things. She was always the unique one and the beloved, even if we had other dogs.
THE BEGGER
Sara’s ability to eat at any moment is what makes her unique. She will jump on you and push you with her paws until you give her food if you are eating something, and she will look into your eyes with the prettiest puppy expression imaginable.
I was unable to bring Sara with me when I grew up since I had to attend school away from home. Those were difficult years. I missed my dog more than I missed my parents, but I made time to see her frequently since she could have a nice life in the country.
THE GRANDMA
She is now about 15 years old, and as people age, they get sick. Her condition is heart failure. We feared she was going to die at a difficult time when she was very ill, but Sara never gave up. She must now take medicine for the rest of her life, even if she recovers. She is not permitted to run, leap, remain chilly, or become agitated. Knowing how vibrant and busy she used to be makes it difficult to see her sleep virtually of the time. Sara still has that fierce attitude, despite the fact that she is elderly and occasionally replies when I call her grandma. She ignores the nearly all-adoring canines at the park since she doesn’t care about them. She begins to snarl if they are disturbing her or are not giving her enough room.
The best friend
She sits next to her food dish every morning and looks at me, hoping that I would notice and give her food since she is so amusing. We have played hide-and-seek since she was a little child. I hide in the home or under the sheets, and she starts to hunt for me. She tries to catch me in one of the other games we play. I start to flee in her direction, but if I stop, she will chase after me and bite me.
She will be able to enjoy the rest of her life and go out like a regular dog after the winter is gone. She stays with me in the city during the winter months and has acclimated to it rather well. In the summer, we return to the country, where she is free to do as she pleases.
Sara has had an amazing life and is the finest dog I have ever owned. Since I was a young child, she has been my best friend, and I am very grateful to have her in my life.
